All registered adult leaders and any parents or family friends must take Committee training and Youth Protection Training (YPT) in order to enhance the experience for our Scouts.

Address and resolve all Parent Issues.
Oversee the code of Conduct application.
Conduct committee meetings.
Send out weekly emails updating troop activities.
Promote a free flow of information and communication within the Troop.
File recharter paperwork annually
Work with Secretary and Advancement Coordinator to keep the upstairs closet organized.
Be an active member of the Adult Leadership Team comprised of the Scoutmaster, the Committee Chair, and the Charter Organization Representative. Meet periodically to ensure Troop is heading in the right direction.
Work with Scoutmaster and Treasurer to ensure scholarship account is being used to help scouts.

Maintain a boy lead, an outdoor program based on learning and fun while adhering to the Scouting Aims and Guide to Safe Scouting.
Seek the best from each Scout and help them to achieve and succeed.
Train boy leaders to run the Troop by providing direction, coaching, counseling, and support.
Ensure that the Patrol method is in place and operating in all aspects of Troop operations.
Supervise the Assistant Scoutmasters and ensure each Patrol is assigned one active ASM.
Create an environment that generates new perspectives and breakthrough ideas.
Foster a collaborative environment where people actively share information, rely on each other's expertise, and deliver on commitments for the benefit of the boys in the Troop.
Be an active member of the Adult Leadership Team comprised of the Scoutmaster, the Committee Chair, and the Charter Organization Representative.
Report summary of Patrol and Troop developments from the standpoint of the Scouts.
Cultivate an active relationship between the Troop and the Charter Organization.
Be an active member of the Adult Leadership Team comprised of the Scoutmaster, the Committee Chair, and the Charter Organization Representative.
Report of any concerns from and opportunities with the Charter Organization.
Maintain accurate records of the Troop funds and the Scouts' funds.
Collect funds for campouts and activities, including:
obtaining a roster of attendees from the adult sponsor in charge;
collecting receipts for the food purchased;
monitoring records of money collected and who has paid
invoicing those who have not paid.
Work with Ways and Means to prepare a budget.
Report current financial statement and statement of accounts receivable.
Provide opportunities for completion of all partial merit badges within one year. Look at Circle Ten and surrounding councils for merit badge universities.
Obtain needed merit badge counselors.
Encourage counselors to meet with Scouts to set plans for merit badge completion.

Prepare minutes for each meeting.
Get Eagle Rank plaques with engraved names for new eagle scouts.
Maintain artifacts/accomplishments on our wall upstairs.
Update Facebook with pictures and upcoming activities.
Keep track of T-shirts and order more when necessary.
Work with Committee Chair and Advancement coordinator to keep the upstairs closet organized.
Provide enjoyable and safe outdoor experiences for all attendees.
Work with Scouts to promote events and create excitement in upcoming outings.
Identify adult volunteers willing to host and work with the Scouts to plan each event after the Troop calendar is approved.
Be a resource to adult volunteers with questions and follow up with the adult volunteer during the planning stage to ensure all steps are on track.
Keep a list of all attendees and accomplishments that occurred during the event and provide this list to the Advancement Chair and Merit Badge Coordinator for addition to TroopMaster.
Recruit leaders for the upcoming campouts.
Report on campout participation.
Recognize all advancement (rank and merit badges) within one regular meeting of when the advancement was earned.
Ensure all Troop advancement records are accurate and up to date and that BSA advancement requirements are being met.
Be the Systems Administrator for the TroopMaster database.
Use Advancement Committee Members to work with each Scout to set advancement goals and follow up on those goals and proactively work with the Scoutmaster, Advancement Committee, and Merit Badge Coordinator to identify areas where Scouts need help in advance.
Periodically update TroopMaster with requirements completed on each merit badge.
Follow up with those Scouts not advancing within 8 months of the last rank advancement.
Update TroopMaster from the Scout handbook with the requirements the Scout has completed in order to determine what they need to do to advance to the next rank.
Set up a Board of Review for scouts.
Give each Scout an advancement history report at each Court of Honor and be a resource to each Scout on advancement questions and concerns.
Work with Star to Eagle Coordinator to ensure Life Scouts have a clear understanding of the steps to Eagle.
File Journey to Excellence
Work with the committee chair and secretary to keep the upstairs closet organized.

Work with new scouts to work through the TFC program
Help scouts understand it is their responsibility to get the required signatures.
Work with scouts to achieve Star, Life, and Eagle ranks.
Meet with scouts periodically to help them with scheduling goals.
Help Life Scouts with Eagle paperwork.
Provide Leadership training each year (when appropriate) through the following programs:

ILST - Introduction to Leadership Skills (prerequisite to NYLT)
NYLT – National Youth Leadership Training
Order of the Arrow National Leadership Seminar
Work with the Scoutmaster to conduct New Leader Training within one month of a Scout's acceptance of a new position. Have 100% participation from all newly elected Scouts.
Work with the Scoutmaster to conduct Troop-led Junior Leader Training within one month of a Scout's acceptance of a new position. Have 100% participation of all Scouts entering a new position even if a Scout has been through a previous session. Ideally, we would seek to have older Scouts teach portions of this training.
Conduct Position Specific Training for all Scouts entering a position they never have held before.
Have at least 1 Scout attend the Order of the Arrow National Leadership Seminar.
Report of training activities completed during the preceding month
Report on the number of youth attendees at training sessions.
Provide Scouts with opportunities to pay for their scouting activities and to provide funds to the Troop to carry out the scouting experience for the Scouts.
Encourage scouts and leaders to find new and fun fundraising opportunities.
Report status of fundraising activities as they occur.
Obtain and maintain completed health forms for all Scouts and adults.
Provide health forms as needed to an adult sponsor before each Troop event.
Ensure first aid kits are appropriately stocked before each campout.
Obtain needed equipment.
Work with Scout Quartermasters to obtain and maintain an inventory of all Troop equipment.
Ensure that the Troop trailer is properly cared for.
Renew trailer license tags annually

Maintain and periodically organize shed
Find and organize community service every other month.
Some need to be conservation-oriented.
Recruit a minimum of 5 new Scouts for the Troop.
Plan for and attend Cub Scout Round Table events to recruit Cub Scout Leaders to bring Cub Scouts to the Troop.
Organize webelos/AOL campout for prospective scouts
Plan and organize recruiting meetings. Contact cub scout leaders within a 5-mile radius and invite their AOL’s to visit a meeting.
Follow up with Scouts not attending meetings.
Follow up with Scouts who leave the program to determine their reasons for leaving and to see if there is anything further the Troop can do for them.
Maintain the Troop Roster.
Obtain and maintain completed media consent and Code of Conduct forms for all Scouts

Promote the religious emblems program and encourage Scouts to complete the requirements for the emblem of their faith. This is an optional program.
Train the Troop elected Chaplain's Aids in their roles and responsibilities.
Provide guidance to the membership of the Troop in religious matters.
Be a resource to the Scouts in providing a spiritual tone for troop meetings and campouts.
Promote Scout Sunday.
Notify Troop leadership of any Scouts in need.
Recruit enough ASMs to have 1 active ASMs per patrol and additional ASMs as needed.
Ensure all new ASMs complete all required training.
Ensure all adults complete Youth Protection training
Encourage adults to complete additional position-specific training.
