These instructor-led courses are designed to help adult leaders learn how to effectively carry out their Scouting roles and to fulfill BSA’s requirement that ALL LEADERS must be trained for their positions. All courses will be led by seasoned Scouters who have led in the leadership positions for which they are teaching. Below are the requirements to be trained and to be eligible to wear the “Trained” patch.

Instructor Syllabus (August 2018)
Young people today seek outdoor adventures: climbing and rappelling offer both a mental and physical challenge.
Our climbing program provides you with the opportunity for everything you need to create an active climbing program for your unit. Level I and Level II courses teach you all components to qualify for certification as a BSA Climbing Level I or II Instructor to lead safe and exciting unit, district and council events.
This course is for Scouters who want to learn how to rig the tower for unit climbing events and mature older Scouts (age 14 and older) who want to staff the tower at Winter Camp or Summer Camp or help with unit climbing events. You will learn how to belay, properly wear helmets & harnesses, tie climbing knots, rig a climb, and rig a releasable rappel.
*Please certify at least 3 members of your unit to make full use of all tower elements simultaneously and to meet the minimum requirements of Climb on Safely (2 minimum, on site, to run the tower).

The purpose of the Trainer’s EDGE course is to provide help to develop the platform skills of a trainer. Whether you are training in your unit or in one of the advanced leadership development programs, Trainer's EDGE can help you become more confident and provide you with tools to make your training sessions more engaging. Only practice can polish these skills, but this course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media.
Welcome to our page for all things "shooting sports" in Circle Ten Council! We offer NRA, USA Archery and BSA certification classes.

Any interest in becoming a rifle, shotgun, etc. counselor? This is the first step. I'm pretty sure the BSA would always welcome new instructors.
NRA Basic Instructor Training is designed to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses. It is the NRA class that helps people who already have subject matter expertise learn how to hold a class the NRA way so that their students earn recognized NRA certification.
This course teaches you the policies and procedures for becoming an NRA instructor as well as effective teaching methods for training students. Basic Instructor Training is a pre-requisite for all instructor level courses.
If you have any problems or questions contact C10ShootingSports@gmail.com.

All four of the BSA high-adventure bases (HAB)require at least one person per trek (two per trek at Philmont Scout Ranch) to be current in WFA. Of course, having more participants trained in WFA skills is highly recommended for any high adventure or backcountry experience.
